The application and database logic can reside on different operating environments, e.g., Windows 2000 and/or Unix/Linux.

HR21 is the employee and manager self service module. This is an Internet/Intranet solution using Internet Explorer as the browser.

Scalable/Open Structure

chris²¹ is an OPEN system, offering true scalability. Unlimited users can be accomodated - from 1 to 1,000 with an unlimited number of employees. Database options are ODBC, SQL Server, ORACLE or VISION. Operating SystemsUsers can choose the most suitable operating environment to match their business requirements – and migration between different operating environments is a seamless exercise.

Server environments are Windows 2000, Unix platforms HP/UX, SUN/Sparc Solaris, IBM RS/6000 AIX, Red Hat Linux (Intel CPU). Client workstations can be Windows, 98, 2000 or XP (Intel based systems).

Security

Comprehensive security control surrounds the database, offering scope for simple and efficient departmental and/or employee development. A user will have their own login id and password and this controls the access level.

Auditing

All database changes are logged. Users making any changes are identified, along with the date and time that alterations are made, the addition of new information, and other pertinent data.

Email/Diary

chris²¹ is compliant with any SMTP compliant email system. Automatic diary triggers will create email messages and outlook calendar/tasks can be automatically updated if required.

Customisation

Users can modify/customise chris²¹ to suit, without the need for expensive development staff or Frontier Software’s assistance. Screens can be changed and new screens or database fields added, simply and quickly - giving greater customer control, all without effecting upgrades.

Documentation/Correspondence

Seamless integration with Microsoft/Lotus Office products makes letters, memos and all manner of communications easy. One click and a merged document is ready for printing.

Ad-hoc Reporting

chris²¹ includes an easy to use and friendly report designer. The drag and drop facility offers unlimited user reporting capabilities. Ad-hoc reporting is simple and immediate.Additional reporting via other third party report writers or EIS (Executive Information Systems) reporting tools can be used against the ODBC compliant database option.

Data Conversion/Migration

The experience of Frontier Software ensures that data conversion/migration becomes an easy task. The conversion tools mean that both current and historical data is migrated.

General Ledger Interfacing

Interfaces exists with the worlds leading general ledger accounting systems. Please contact our Customer Service Centre for the latest list of ledger systems that we support. Currenty we provide interface to over 80 vendors.

Interfaces

Interfaces also exist to other external systems including: Time & Attendance, Job Costing, ERP, Pension and Superannuation systems.

Self Service - HR21

Our Employee/Manager Web Kiosk is a browser based separate MODULE written in HTML and Java script. It provides employee self service and manager workflow automation - without the need to purchase additional third party products. Complete integration with chris²¹ database occurs as it provides real-time updates.

Naturally an employee can only enquire/update their own records and managers will only see employees that report to them.
